For Christy and Turtle

Christy - you asked for Asian art, Asian art you shall get.

Turtle - here is your favorite deity.

These are various statues of Guanyin (also spelled Kwan Yin), the Buddhist bodhisattva of compassion, and Asia's most famous transgender woman (since Guanyin was male in India and Tibet, but turned female in China). I took these photos at San Francisco's Asian Art Museum last month. Sorry if these are a bit blurry; I had to take these photos with the flash off.

Various forms of Guanyin. These are Chinese examples, about 700-1000 years old.

Another Guanyin, this one is in jade. Circa 13th century, if I remember right.

Here's a male Kannon (Japanese Guanyin), from the 12th century.
Electronics company Canon was named after Kannon.
