Yes, I am repeating, but she also deserves her own post

Her eyes follow you!
Woz says... "She's very beautiful and also very remote. There's a lot inside her head and although her eyes are looking at me, they are also looking through me and beyond me, and I don't think she's got any trust for what she's seeing."
Yes! Carol called it a 'sadness', and she ism kinda mournful, but that is what was eluding me. That look of distrust and almost hostility. She seems to be barely tolerating your examination of her. And watching your every move.
Sparrow said she looks like a modern day college student. It is strange that she does look oddly modern, even with her period clothes and headdress.
The more I look at her, the more I just love her. The photos never are as pretty as the actual canvas.

Notice

I am about to edit the blog and remove some pics that keep repeating and a post.

No, you are not going crazy, I am deleting stuff.

Because she deserves her own post. Rossis' Canvas

The more I look at her face, the more beautiful she is too me. I was trying to stay somewhat true to the outline of her face on her coins, but it was a surprise to see how she finished. I thought she would have a much more typical, or generic look, but she evolved into a knockout.
The color in the pic is somewhat off, the true color of the wall is a very tangy tangerine orange. Not the bright yellow you see here.
I said I can paint but I never claimed to be a photographer.
I love you Rossi, I will send her first thing Monday.

Our Interactive Masterpiece

We started with a simple premise. Recreate our version of this Masterpiece.

The Original, Girl with a Pearl Earring....

Our practice canvas incomplete .

It was at this point I decided to divert from the original lines altogether and age her some 5 or 8 years. I took out her mouth completely and redone it with an imaginary shot of estrogen.

And we got...Young Woman with a Pearl Earring

As you can see, I redefined her eyes, Made her nose slightly more defined and closed her mouth and gave her an enigmatic smile. (As oppossed to the slight slack lipped look of terror in the originial.) I also brought out her foehead to smooth her brow, even though I totally resisted the urge to give the poor girl some eyebrows.

I thinned her cheeks and her jaw slightly and thickened the neck for better proportion at the back of her neck.

The eyes are injected with silver to get the clear effect of her pale blue eyes.

As always, click to enlarge for details.

Thank you Sparrow and Carol. I really enjoyed the input. Interactive art, I LOVE IT!

We should do this more often.

My reoccurring dream

It lasts about 30 seconds every time.

In my dream, I am laying on a floor in deep shadows. And my man is there and we are making love. It is good, too.

Then I look up, and see this image above me

My painting. The Fallen.

And, I realize slowly, it is not on canvas, but stained glass, and I see the roof way above us is a geometric and endless series of stained glass windows. Hundreds of them, each thier own image. The light coming through them was not yellow like daylight, but blue, like moonlight.

And I am simultainiously making love and realizing that I am looking at works I have yet to paint, in stained glass completely surrounding me . I know they are mine but I have never seen them before.

I am so stunned, it wakes me up every time.

WTF does that mean?

I don't know what it means, it is a great dream.

Ok Sparrow, tell me where I am going wrong.

Girl With a Pearl Earring. The Original

XXXX pic removed to keep from repeating images.

My practice canvas....unfinished.

XXXX Pic removed, see post Interactive Masterpiece above for images.

I am going to go ahead and color in her headscarf and coat today. That will not be a problem. The problem, as you can see, is her face. I went off the lines somewhere, and I'm not sure where. It will look somewhat different with the other colors added, but they won't change the mistakes I've made.

If you can, compare the two faces, and tell me what is wrong. And what is right.

?

Cleopatra on the wall

I hope you don't mind, but I love this pic! I actually get to see where her new home is. I don't always get to know how or where they wind up. And here, you can see the entire canvas.

Monkey Ball 2008

I am having difficulty photographing this one because the clear coat keeps glaring.

The colors here are still somewhat washed out, but they are truer than the other pic I had.
