Christy, I really, really love this one! I love her curly hair (like mine). Also, I like how you strategically covered her--I have to admit, I'm pretty much a prude about nudes. But what I really like about how you did this is that you managed to make her arms look taut--as if they are really pulling the bow. Have you ever used a bow and arrow? It takes a lot of actual work to pull them apart, hold the arrow steady, and then release it without moving your arms. Yet, you managed to convey that.
I too love the eyes in Layla.
I don't know how you can let your favorite pictures go. I think it would bring out the greediness in me. I could let the ones I'm so so on go. But the ones that came out so perfect, I'd have to keep.
Speeking of keeping...don't let mom have Dianna (or send it to me).
"I don't know how you can let your favorite pictures go. I think it would bring out the greediness in me."
I can't really say why, it is complicated. I try not to covet. My man is kinda touchy about me giving them away, but he understands me.
There are those I keep back, Like Nefertiti or An American Princess, but, I only have so much wall space and it seems to make people happy.
And besides, what I am doing now, is practice. I have had this art shop for what? Not even three months, and all the sudden, every dootle every sketch every style I ever studied is paying off. I am not painting great and grand things, not yet.
These are portrait or character or color studies that just so happen to turn out very well.
If I paint it, and you like it, then it gets put away on my draft table never to be seen again till I die...What good is that beauty if it can not be appreciated...?
Everything you see here, is practice. I am evolving into something, I am not sure where it is going, but by putting it up this way I can track my own evolution and keep them all with me together.
If I can keep her from my mom, I will, but she hasn't seen her yet.
Anyways, even if I can keep her from being napped I'll have to hold off on shipping anything.
We just had to replace the floor in my bedroom, I've been sleeping in the dining room for 5 days, but right at christmastime too, I am totally broke on my art budget.

"Have you ever used a bow and arrow?"
Umm, you're not joking are you?
Yes, I have used bows many times. I was fully trained with bows and firearms before I could read an entire book by myself.
I am also hell with a bull whip. Not joking. My people are horse people. At least my extended family is.
Me, I think horses are the dumbest creature ever created. Beautiful for sure, but totally dumb animals.
But, they do have a purpose I guess. We can always eat them if we run out of cows.

Very soon, I won't be giving anything away.

Christy
You could use this for another "Vintage for Ally" at Rebelle Nation. Even though it's not vintage! :)
Keep up the good work!
Ally McRepuke
Thank Ally.
I will put something up here for you today, an old sketch I did.
For my work it is 'vintage'.
