Obama Art Continues to be Cranked Out

I was just reading about the exhibit by artist Peyton, who has done portraits of people such as Curt Cobain. She has a show at a gallery in New York City and her portrait of Michelle Obama was just sold to an undisclosed buyer. There were quite a few articles, but I had a hard time tracking down an image of the actual painting. When I did, I noticed that it is going to be displayed in the Twin Cities before long.

There is also a trend of babies born as Barack, Obama, Barack Obama (mostly in Kenya), Michelle, Sasha, Malia and Malia Sasha.

We have lived some history!!!

This painting is absolutely beautiful. It captures the love and the exhaustion. The natural posture of the woman who is your First Lady-Elect is perfectly shown. Michelle is so tired that her eyes are glazed. The colors are a perfect choice too. Or is that what they were wearing on that night?

Yes, that's what they wore. I, too, thought she got the expression just right. It's a beautiful painting. Ironically, I've gotten more use to the smooth blending of colors like in acrylics or photoshop that at first, I didn't like the bumpy look of this one.

I'd love to see my daughter(s) do a picture of them; I think it'd be more 'my style'. Of course, I'm a little biased.

I'd love to see that, s. If they do decide to try it.

Even if this was not the Obamas, it would still be pitch perfect.

How many times have you been in a vhurch and seen that exact pose and those exact expressions on the face of a focused mother and a bored child?

It is timeless. A truly beautiful work.
