Sedona, AZ

I'm always on the lookout for good art...especially from
the Southwest. Someday I'll live out there and be a whitewater guide!

These paintings, "Saguaro Sunshine" and "Cathedral Morning", are by Cody DeLong. If I can figure out how to hang them without tearing holes in my wall, they'll be up in my house soon.

I like these. great greens.

Beethoven and Capt. Spsrrow are enroute.

It is strange to think of 'desolate' and 'inviting' being compatable, but that is what I keep thinking when I see these.

Desolate, yet, inviting.

They were expensive, but damn were they worth it.

Somehow he captures everything I love about the desert.

Christy do you know how to hang heavy framed art on a wall without ripping the wall to pieces?

Depends on what the wall is made of and covered with.

Is it a stone wall covered in plaster or wood walls with wood studs?

If it is sheetrock, you have a problem.

It is one of the outer walls of the house (not an inside wall) so I'm pretty sure wood & wood studs, in fact I ran into some studs on the facing outer wall when I was trying to hang drapes.

Do I drill into a stud? How do I find one?

You actually can buy a cheap little device called a 'studfinder' at the hardware store.

Yes, you can drill into a stud, and if it is a heavy piece that is probably best. It can also be centered by running a wood brace between two studs and hung from the brace.
