Albrecht Dürer was one of the first artists to paint a self portrait. Multi-skilled, he was a painter, an engraver, a wood-cutter. At that time woodcuts were used as illustrations in books.
The Flight Into Egypt is an engraving. I'm stunned that the baby is naked, considering the time of year this was.

Nice works.
But, for one, it is warm in the Middle East during Chrstmas, and for two, there is nothing that actually says Christ was born in winter.
