I do. Picasso's work has grown on me after seeing a documentary series about him and his work. Very little abstract art appeals - this does - the recognisable parts are still distorted but they fit the mood of the painting.
Yesterday I was at my doctor's surgery waiting with the other patients and I saw a magazine/big book on the table with old womens and political magazines that grace the "help-yourself-to-a-time-killer" table. I picked it up and couldn't believe my eyes. It was the 2nd edition (March/April 2008) of a newly developed magazine called Art World for Australia and New Zealand. It costs $19.90. It is over 200 pages with NO advertising. I think someone must have left it there accidentally. No way would a book like that be in that kind of situation.
So, having not had a cigarette in over 6 years, I thought - hey 2 packs of cigarettes cost more than that - so I went off and bought issue 4. WOW! Instantly I found the feature exhibit for the Melbourne Art Fair that is on now. It's an amazing work and I wanted to share it here. But I can't get my scanner to work! I can't find a cord that I need. And I've searched the internet for this work. I'll keep looking.
