A visa doesn't necessarily guarantee entry. In many countries, even with a visa, you can still be denied entry at the airport or border if something is fishy enough.
Both South Korea and the US are among those "many countries."
You're right... Reverend Moon is one of those fishy individuals with free access to the US, even though his US residency should've been revoked years ago.
Of course, the Koreans will probably consider my anti-Moon stance to be "leftist subversion," fishy enough to possibly deny me entry.
I really wanted to go to another country to meditate, but the person I want to meditate happens to be in Seoul.
I found it so odd when I got into this South Korean movie thing, was how often they used the name of Christ. Either swearing or in refrence. It was such an unexpected experience.
You remember the Clint Curtis case?
The one who wrote the vote rigging software then whistle blew?
Anyways, he turned in a Chinese spy and it was proven the guy was spying for CHINA. He even pleaded guilty.
And he got like a years probation and a ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR fine.
That's IT.
WTF is that all about? I think about that one all the time.
Unbelievable the crap going on in this country. The South Koreans can not be any more,.... freaked out... than we are right now. As a society I mean.
I envy you Ally! What a big world you live in! I say go just because YOU CAN!
The South Koreans know fascism and dictatorship when they see it. They also know incompetence when they see it. Both have plagued their nation for decades.
So when the right wingers f'd up the economy in 1997, the leftists swept into power. When the leftist president was incompetent, the rightists scored a landslide in last year and this spring's national elections. But when the rightists wanted to bring fascism back, the leftists again won local elections this summer.
That's probably the one thing that gives me hope as I embark on this trip.

Oh that is beautiful!
Very pretty! I love the scarf and the way her back is arched. Actually, I know my daughter would like that picture too.
Me, too. I love the natural curves of her set against the straight lines of the background.
The sheer fabric of her top is fantastic. Looks like you can just reach out and touch it.
I absolutely love this picture!

I'm not too worried though!

In this country they are denying entry to people even when they are not acting fishy.
The ones acting fishy though never seem to have any problems getting through.
Come on NOVEMBER!
